Guesthouse

The guest house is the UMC Utrecht guesthouse. You can stay there if your partner, family member or friend is admitted to UMC Utrecht. You are also welcome if you have to be in hospital early for an admission or visit to an outpatient clinic. The guesthouse has eight guest rooms and a large living room. Are you a family member or carer of patients staying at the Wilhelmina Children's Hospital or Princess Máxima Centre? Then we would be happy to refer you to the Ronald McDonald House Utrecht.

Are you a patient at UMC Utrecht? Then your family members or other loved ones can stay there. If you are in hospital, for example, because you have just had surgery, it is good to know that they can be with you within five minutes. Your guests can be with you in no time if they want to, but at the same time they have a place to retreat from the hospital atmosphere.

No traffic jams

You are also welcome in the guesthouse if you are being treated in an outpatient clinic or have to be at the hospital early the next day for an examination or admission. Especially if you have to travel a long way, it is nice to be able to go to your appointment without the stress of traffic jams.

Hospitalized patients have no access

You cannot use the guesthouse if you are a patient admitted to a nursing ward of UMC Utrecht. (You are admitted as soon as you are registered as a patient on a ward.) This is a rule we have to prevent infections and comply with patient safety regulations.

Independence of guests

The guesthouse is not a ward of the hospital and therefore cannot provide medical care or assistance for General Daily Living (ADL) activities. Also, the rooms are not equipped with medical aids, such as a hoist and an adapted bed. The care of external services such as home care is also not possible there. Guests must therefore be self-reliant, or stay with someone who can give them the care they need.

If you urgently need a room in the guesthouse, you do not have to make an online reservation, but you can make your reservation right away by telephone. This can also be done outside of office hours.

Contributions to the UMC Utrecht guesthouse

You can also support our guesthouse with 'in kind' donations. For example, we are looking for bicycles, small bottles of bath and shower gel, welcome gifts for guests, or some extra goodies for guests.

Can you help us with one of these things, or do you have other gift items that you think would be a nice addition to our lodging offer? If so, we would love to hear from you at gastenverblijf@umcutrecht.nl.

Financial Support

Thanks to generous donations from companies, institutions and individuals, the guesthouse is able to offer our guests a welcoming home. We continue to need financial support, for example to renew the furniture and the inventory.

We would be very grateful if you would support the guesthouse of UMC Utrecht with a donation. You can do so through Vrienden UMC Utrecht & Wilhelmina Kinderziekenhuis, the charity of the (children's) hospital with ANBI status. If you would like to make a donation, please click here. Thank you very much!
