New podcast series by Stichting Even Anders
The Dutch podcast series of Stichting Even Anders aims to optimize care and treatment in, for example, general practice, nursing homes and hospitals. In each episode, a case is discussed with two professionals. The first four episodes deal with the themes of refusing a headscarf, calling in an interpreter, refusing pain medication and contraception.
About the podcast
Within healthcare, the creators of the podcast see that different views, values, cultures and religions sometimes create friction and ethical dilemmas. They want to use a contemporary product to make (future) care providers aware of their own thinking patterns, and to give them insight into which other values and beliefs underlie certain choices or actions. Hopefully, this will inspire healthcare workers to think outside their own box by highlighting multiple sides of religious and cultural dilemmas in healthcare. In this 12-part podcast series, they discuss various common and recognizable case histories. The insights can be used directly in daily healthcare practice.
The podcasts are easy to listen to on the go, during sports or otherwise. The podcast can also be used for training sessions or debates. In the podcasts, the hosts develop discussion and debate questions so that healthcare providers can discuss the case and views with each other.
